Extract of a letter from Talbot Court-House, dated Feb. 11.
This being the first year that the birth day of our great
and worthy General hath been announced to the public, . . .

The evening being spent with the utmost festivity,
gladness filled the hearts of all that were present, and joy
sparkled in their eyes. The entertainment was concluded
with the following song, composed by an American.
In a chariot of light from the regions above,
The Goddess of Freedom appear'd;
The sun beams of day,
Emblazon'd her way,
And empire America rear'd.
